About the position

The position is within the Medical Affairs Administration department at Ascension St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. The role involves coordinating the processing of applications, appointments, and administrative support services for medical staff and health professionals. The schedule is full-time, Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate processing of applications, appointments, and administrative support services for medical staff and health professionals.
  • Handle the billing, collection, and deposit of medical staff dues.
  • Schedule, coordinate and attend all assigned department and committee meetings, conferences and special events in support of medical staff credentialing activities.
  • Communicate with both internal and external customers concerning the credentialing activities and operation of the department, including verification requests regarding hospital privileges, past residencies, and fellowships.
  • Ensure data integrity.
  • Maintain adequate documentation for analysis, data retrieval, and troubleshooting of systems and databases.
  • Maintain current credential files on all employed/contracted physicians for physician groups.
  • Develop, update, and maintain matrix of physician participation/enrollment with contracted payers and distribute to management, physicians and office staff.
  • Notify contracted payers of any physician changes or other pertinent information.

Requirements

  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Credentialing Specialist preferred.
  • Medical Services Management preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient with general computer functions (ie., reports, emails, calendars, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Google Suites and Microsoft Office is preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • A team player and the ability to multi-task and prioritize daily tasks.
  • Professional and courteous demeanor.
  • Be able to anticipate needs, have good critical thinking skills and is flexible.
  • Has experience with coordinating and attending meetings and taking meeting minutes.
