About the position

The Coordinator of Basketball Operations at the University of Washington plays a crucial role in managing the day-to-day operations of the basketball program. This position requires direct expertise to support coaches, staff, and student-athletes, ensuring that all operational needs are met effectively. The coordinator will be responsible for coordinating multimedia needs for the team, which includes making independent judgments regarding budgetary requirements for filming practices and games, managing the cataloging and storage of multimedia assets, and overseeing the digitizing, editing, and organizing of video footage for scouting and presentations. This role is essential in maintaining communication with all program staff and student-athletes, ensuring that everyone is aligned with the program's operational goals. In addition to multimedia coordination, the coordinator will provide video support for home games, manage video exchanges, and acquire opponent game videos for analysis. The position also involves assisting with budget management for multimedia equipment and services, managing schedules, and preparing for practices and game days. The coordinator will work closely with other athletic department units to address staff and student-athlete needs, manage on-campus recruiting visits, and develop recruiting materials in collaboration with the coaching staff. Compliance with NCAA and conference regulations is paramount, and the coordinator will be required to participate in rules education programs offered by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all multimedia needs for the team, including budget projections and approvals for team operations.
  • Provide video support for home games and manage video exchanges, including acquiring and cataloging opponent's game videos.
  • Assist with budget needs for multimedia equipment, software, and external services, including projecting annual budget needs.
  • Manage schedules, practice preparations, game day preparations, and other administrative duties as assigned.
  • Coordinate staff and student-athlete needs from other athletic department units, communicating budget impacts from these needs.
  • Manage on-campus recruiting visits and develop recruiting materials in collaboration with the Director of Operations and coaching staff.
  • Ensure compliance with NCAA and conference rules and regulations.

Requirements

  • High school graduation or equivalent and two years of related experience in college basketball either playing, working, or a combination of both, OR equivalent education/experience.
  • Experience in an athletics environment.
  • Knowledge of NCAA and Conference rules and regulations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work a variable schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel with the team.
