About the position

The Coordinator of Career Development & Special Projects at Louisiana Tech University is responsible for enhancing career development services for students and alumni. This role involves providing guidance in career exploration, planning, and professional development through various formats, including individual appointments, workshops, and seminars. The position also includes coordinating career development programs and events, supporting alumni services, and managing job search services.

Responsibilities

  • Assist students with Career Exploration, Career Planning, and Professional Development in individual, group, workshop, and seminar formats.
  • Maintain current mental health / career credentials (if applicable).
  • Develop career assessment and professional development resources.
  • Assist Director to provide services for alumni stakeholders.
  • Coordinate strategic planning and support for exploring majors and occupations programs.
  • Coordinate strategic planning and support for experiential learning and professional development programs.
  • Coordinate career readiness initiatives and special projects (i.e. Career Prep events and other career development programming).
  • Direct and coordinate the Meet Your Majors fairs in collaboration with Office of Admissions and First Year Experience.
  • Support the instruction of UNIV 303, 'Career Planning' - Professional Development Course.
  • Support the instruction of UNIV 200, 'Introduction to Career Development' - Career Exploration course.
  • Support job / internship search services including resume seminars/review, interview/mock interview seminars, Career Fairs, collaboration with academic areas and corporate representatives.
  • Explore grants and research related to career development.
  • Oversee the Career Center Ambassador Scholarship Program, including selections, trainings, and activities throughout the academic year.
  • Support Career Closet initiatives as needed.
  • Perform other responsibilities as requested by the Director.
  • Serve on committees & as a student organization advisor (as available).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.

Benefits

  • Proposed Annual Salary Range: $45-49,000.
