About the position

The Coordinator of Evangelizing Catechesis is a full-time position within the Office of Evangelizing Catechesis at the Diocese of Green Bay. This role is pivotal in coordinating and implementing the mission of Evangelizing Catechesis specifically aimed at children and youth. The Coordinator will oversee the ongoing formation for catechists, ensuring that they are well-equipped to deliver effective religious education. This includes the oversight of the diocesan religion curriculum and the development of age-appropriate faith formation resources and catechetical models, particularly for those preparing for sacraments. In addition to curriculum oversight, the Coordinator will play a crucial role in engaging parents of religious education students. This involves the development of catechetical resources and recommendations for effective models of family faith formation, fostering a collaborative environment between the church and families. The position requires a deep commitment to the mission and vision of the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay, working in accordance with Catholic teachings and the moral and ethical values of the Church. The Coordinator will also be responsible for planning events related to catechetical training and family engagement, ensuring that all activities align with the overall mission of the Diocese.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement the mission of Evangelizing Catechesis with children and youth.

Requirements

  • Embrace the mission and vision of the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay and work in accordance with Catholic Teachings.
  • Knowledge of Sacred Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and Church documents related to catechetical ministry.
  • Excellent event planning skills.
  • Strong management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and social media platforms.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, and confidentiality.
  • Self-starter who can take direction and contribute ideas.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Pastors, Catechetical Leaders, and Catechists.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Theology, Religious Studies, or related field.
