About the position

The Coordinator of Operations and Design (COD) at Pitts Theology Library, Emory University, plays a crucial role in providing logistical support for library operations while managing the library's visual brand and design. This position reports directly to the Director of the Library and is integral to the development and execution of significant library user service programs. The COD is responsible for coordinating various functions within the library, ensuring that user needs are met effectively and efficiently. This includes developing goals and objectives for library programs in consultation with internal and external stakeholders, including managers, vendors, and faculty members. In addition to program coordination, the COD may assess user needs, analyze and maintain system data, and develop new services or programs to enhance the library's offerings. The role also involves overseeing testing and training for library systems and functions, resolving any issues that arise, and developing and communicating policies and procedures. The COD is expected to create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to library operations and may also monitor workflow and budgetary considerations. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to improving library services for all users. The role is primarily in-person at the Emory University location, although there may be options for remote work at the department's discretion. Responsibilities

  • Coordinates a significant library user service program, system, or major function.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in a related area.
  • Four years of library experience.
  • Computer skills, special skills, subject expertise, or proficiency in a foreign language.
