About the position

As Operations and Engagement Coordinator for Buckner Shoes for Orphan Souls (SOS), you will play a crucial role in impacting the lives of children, families, and senior adults. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the incoming shoe drive experience and oversee assigned relationships or shoe drive events. You will implement strategies that promote the purpose of Buckner Shoes for Orphan Souls® and the broader mission of Buckner International. This position requires a proactive approach to support the organization’s initiatives and ensure the successful execution of various programs. In this role, you will actively support Buckner Shoes for Orphan Souls® through the implementation of administrative and operational duties. You will manage assigned shoe drive relationships and community events, recruiting participants in specific geographical areas in alignment with SOS and Buckner marketing plans. Additionally, you will provide support to the Director of Buckner Shoes for Orphan Souls® on strategic shoe drive events and assist in organizing events and conferences that promote collaborative opportunities for individuals, volunteers, churches, and organizations. As a liaison for Buckner Shoes for Orphan Souls conferences and events, you will be responsible for giving presentations and serving as a spokesperson for the organization. You will maintain a database for shoe drives, ensuring donor records are updated as needed, and plan and manage shoe collection operations at assigned SOS special events. General administrative support to the SOS team will also be part of your duties, which includes researching and analyzing data to produce monthly reports. The role may require domestic and international travel to manage assigned accounts and promote the growth of the SOS program, necessitating appropriate documentation for travel. You will also be expected to perform special assignments, projects, and other duties as required.

Responsibilities

  • Actively support Buckner Shoes for Orphan Souls® through implementation of administrative and operational duties.
  • Manage assigned shoe drive relationships and community events.
  • Recruit shoe drive participants in specific geographical areas in accordance with SOS and Buckner marketing plans.
  • Support Director of Buckner Shoes for Orphan Souls® on assigned strategic shoe drive events.
  • Provide support for events and conferences which promote shoe drive collaborative opportunities to individuals, volunteers, churches, denominational groups and organizations.
  • Serve as liaison for Buckner Shoes for Orphan Souls conferences and events: Give presentations and serve as Buckner spokesperson, as assigned.
  • Maintain database for shoe drives, including updating donor records as needed.
  • Plan and manage shoe collection operations at assigned SOS special events.
  • Provide general administrative support to the SOS team, including research and analyzation of data and statistics to produce monthly reports.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed to manage assigned accounts and promote the growth of the SOS program.
  • Perform special assignments, projects, and other duties as required.

Requirements

  • In-depth understanding of a comprehensive field of knowledge normally associated with the attainment of a Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • High School Diploma (or G.E.D.) required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 2 years prior related experience working with volunteers in grass roots efforts or special events fund-raising preferred.
  • Bi-lingual English and Spanish preferred.
  • Some experience with Raiser's Edge, virtuous database or similar systems is highly desirable.
  • Proficient working knowledge and ability to accurately and timely operate and perform computer related tasks with specific equipment and software applications.
  • Ability to work long hours as needed to meet business needs, including nights and weekends.
