About the position

The Coordinator of Student Leadership Programs at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) is responsible for leading and overseeing the development, implementation, and assessment of a comprehensive leadership development program. This role involves advising student government and various student organizations to enhance leadership opportunities and skills among students. The Coordinator plays a critical role in the university's retention and recruitment efforts by fostering a supportive campus environment that encourages student leadership and engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement a comprehensive leadership development program tailored to student organizations.
  • Design and facilitate workshops and training sessions focusing on leadership skills such as communication and teamwork.
  • Serve as a primary advisor for student government and other leadership groups, providing guidance and resources.
  • Assess training needs of student organizations and provide tailored support for leadership development.
  • Plan and execute leadership recognition events to celebrate student achievements.
  • Evaluate the impact of leadership programs on student success and engagement, using data to inform improvements.
  • Manage resources related to leadership development programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in leadership development, student affairs, or a related area.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in public speaking.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.

  • Knowledge of leadership theories and best practices in leadership development.
