The Coordinator of Student Operations and Development is essential in supporting the Student Centers' mission at Case Western Reserve University. This role focuses on ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of non-athletic Division of Student Affairs programming spaces, managing a workforce of student employees, and providing support for building and event operations. The position emphasizes leadership, operational excellence, and fostering a welcoming environment for the campus community.

  • Lead the recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and training of approximately 40 student employees.
  • Manage student schedules and ensure appropriate coverage to meet operational needs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for student employees during evening shifts.
  • Approve student timecards and oversee payroll processes.
  • Manage the budget and allocation of resources for student employee supplies and training materials.
  • Oversee student employees' contributions to maintaining facility cleanliness and safety.
  • Utilize a task management system to assign and monitor daily tasks.
  • Lead the design and implementation of training programs for student employees.
  • Facilitate regular student staff meetings to promote communication and alignment with operational priorities.
  • Track upcoming events and confirm proper space preparation for scheduled activities.
  • Conduct daily and evening walkthroughs of assigned spaces to monitor safety and cleanliness.
  • Provide on-site management during evening events and address concerns in real time.
  • Assist with inventory management and organization of student staff uniforms and event equipment.
  • Collaborate with the engagement team to promote student employee operations and recognition initiatives.
  • Engage in personal and professional development opportunities.
  • Bachelor's degree and 1 year of experience in facility operations or customer service required, preferably in a higher education or community facility setting OR High School education and 5 years of experience required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with diverse individuals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Proven leadership and management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Quick learner with adaptability to changing priorities and workloads.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with good judgment.
  • Technical proficiency with sound and AV equipment preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Experience with sound equipment and AV systems.
