About the position

The Coordinator of the Youth Employment Program (YEP) is responsible for assisting the Program Director in the administration and implementation of the program. This role involves monitoring daily operations, ensuring youth participants are assessed and have established educational and career goals, and maintaining a reporting system to track participant progress. The Coordinator will collaborate with college staff and the Employment and Training Administration's Career Center to promote available services for youth participants.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Program Director with program functions related to administration and implementation.
• Monitor day-to-day operations of the YEP program on the Newburgh campus.
• Ensure youth participants (ages 16-24) are properly assessed and have established educational and career/employment goals.
• Implement and maintain a reporting system to track the progress of program participants.
• Collaborate with College's Staff/Faculty and Employment and Training Administration's Career Center staff to distribute knowledge of available services.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or higher.
• Three (3) years of experience working in Youth Development programs or two (2) years of experience in case management and/or counseling of under-resourced youth (ages 16-24) and their families.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree
• Experience in managing programs for out of school youth and young adults
• Previous training in Positive Youth Development Principles
• Familiarity with the functions of the Career One Stop Operating System
• Strong technology skills specifically experience with Learning Management Systems, education applications, and social media
• Bilingual Skills

Benefits

• Salary: $25 - $31 per hour commensurate with experience, for no more than 29 hours per week.
