About the position

Regions Hospital is looking for an Operations Coordinator to join our Nursing Administration team to support the daily operations and activities of the inpatient nursing department and provide administrative support to department leaders. This position is responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of departmental databases and other information systems that monitor and report on operational processes. The Operations Coordinator ensures the ability to report routine and ad hoc measurements/information as requested by organizational and departmental leadership. Additionally, this role provides support to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Inpatient Nursing department. The Operations Coordinator also relieves the Directors of Nursing of routine administrative details by anticipating needs and accomplishing tasks without direction in some cases. The duties are broad, varied, and often of a complex and confidential nature. This includes performing administrative and clerical duties such as payroll auditing and preparation, scheduling, reporting, and tracking of key information. The work schedule for this position is 0.80 Days, Monday through Friday, allowing for a balanced work-life environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the daily operations and activities of the inpatient nursing department.
  • Provide administrative support to department leaders.
  • Develop and maintain departmental databases and information systems.
  • Monitor and report on operational processes.
  • Prepare routine and ad hoc measurements/information for leadership.
  • Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Inpatient Nursing department.
  • Relieve Directors of Nursing of routine administrative details.
  • Perform payroll auditing and preparation tasks.
  • Schedule and organize complex calendars and meetings.
  • Track key information and reporting.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree required.
  • 5 years of increasingly responsible administrative experience required.
  • Successful data handling and reporting experience required.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare/hospital regulatory environment.
  • Thorough knowledge and capabilities in all of Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced capabilities in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience preparing data in Excel spreadsheets.
  • Ability to organize and schedule complex and multiple calendars.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree, or near completion, preferred.
  • Hospital or healthcare industry experience preferred.
