About the position

The Coordinator, PB Revenue Integrity-Operations is responsible for analyzing patient clinical and billing data to enhance documentation, coding, and denial prevention. This role focuses on promoting operational efficiency within the revenue cycle, ensuring compliance with billing regulations, and collaborating with various departments to improve charge capture processes. The position involves conducting audits, developing action plans based on root cause analysis, and maintaining accurate documentation related to charge capture processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-depth analysis of patient clinical and billing data to identify documentation, coding, and denial prevention.
  • Develop and implement action plans for denial prevention based on root cause analysis findings.
  • Promote revenue cycle operational efficiency, data integrity, and compliance with billing and regulatory guidelines.
  • Conduct audits and collaborate with intra and inter-departmental teams on compliance, education, and accuracy in charge capture.
  • Work closely with clinical areas to document services performed and understand the relationship of documentation, medical necessity, coding, and charging.
  • Complete assigned reports timely and accurately.
  • Maintain documentation regarding charge capture processes, including technology components and personnel interactions.
  • Perform regular reviews of process adherence and identify missing charges.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders regarding impacts of system change requests and upgrades on charging processes.
  • Provide oversight of reconciliation processes for all assigned departments, ensuring daily and appropriate monthly reconciliations occur.
  • Handle charge entry, charge approvals, edits, and/or charge reviews for identified service lines.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Healthcare or Business Administration or a related field required.
  • 3 years of related experience required.
  • RHIT Registered Health Information Technician; RHIA Registered Health Information Administrator; CCS Certified Coding Specialist; or CPC Certified Professional Coder required.
  • Healthcare Compliance Certification preferred.
