The Coordinator of Physician Relations and Marketing I at UAB Medicine plays a crucial role in enhancing communication and collaboration between referring physicians and UAB faculty. This position is designed for a Registered Nurse who will be responsible for visiting referring physicians throughout Alabama and surrounding regions to promote UAB services and facilitate the referral process. The Coordinator will assist in the planning and production of presentations aimed at educating referring physicians about UAB's offerings, ensuring that they are well-informed about the services available to their patients. In this role, the Coordinator will attend faculty division and service line meetings to foster communication between UAB and referring physicians. A key aspect of the job involves analyzing physician referral patterns and effectively communicating this information to internal stakeholders. The Coordinator will also serve as a resource for developing physician-focused promotional initiatives, thereby broadening the referral base to UAB and enhancing the overall patient care experience. The position requires a proactive approach to addressing concerns and requests from referring physicians regarding UAB services. The Coordinator will suggest plans to resolve these concerns and monitor the outcomes. Additionally, the role involves collecting and compiling biographical information on referring physicians and their referral patterns, which will be maintained in appropriate databases. The Coordinator will also assist in assessing the needs of referring physicians and preparing actionable plans to meet those needs, including the organization of Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs in local communities as requested.

Responsibilities

• Visit referring physicians throughout the state and surrounding regions to promote UAB services and faculty.
• Assist physicians in the basic referral process.
• Plan and produce presentations made to referring physicians.
• Attend faculty division and service line meetings to enhance communication between UAB and referring physicians.
• Demonstrate knowledge regarding physician referral patterns and communicate this information to internal stakeholders.
• Serve as a resource for the development of physician-focused promotional initiatives.
• Review referral patterns of target physicians and communicate findings to internal stakeholders.
• Design and develop materials for presentations to referring physicians.
• Address concerns and requests regarding UAB services and monitor results with referring physicians.
• Broaden the referral base to UAB and provide physicians with information regarding services offered.
• Collect and compile biographical information on referring physicians and their referral patterns in databases.
• Assess the needs of referring physicians and prepare plans of action to meet those needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
• Three (3) years of related experience required.
• Currently licensed or licensed by endorsement as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
