About the position

The Coordinator Preschool Program is responsible for overseeing and implementing the State Preschool Program across multiple district sites. This role involves managing staff, ensuring compliance with state regulations, and fostering positive relationships with students, families, and the community. The coordinator will balance direct service to families with administrative duties, including budget management and program evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement the State Preschool Program at multiple sites within the District.
  • Provide direct service to students and families while managing the program's administration.
  • Perform intake, enrollment, and parent outreach services.
  • Establish positive relationships with students and families, maintaining a daily classroom presence.
  • Maintain records, master calendars, and file reports as required by the program and state.
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain program budgets.
  • Prepare for program site visits and audits as directed by the California Department of Education.
  • Recruit, supervise, and meet regularly with program staff.
  • Provide ongoing training for program instructors and support staff.
  • Evaluate the performance and effectiveness of programs and staff.
  • Maintain relationships with parents, parent groups, school volunteers, and outside agencies to support preschool programs.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration with special education and regular education preschool/kindergarten teachers and administrators.
  • Develop program components that allow preschool students with special needs to access typical peers in the least restrictive setting.
  • Establish priorities for educational materials that support kindergarten readiness.
  • Attend trainings and meetings as required by the program and district administration.
  • Interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.

Requirements

  • California Administrative Credential
  • California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential
  • ECE Certificate or B.A. in Child Development
  • Experience coordinating preschool programs
  • Five years of teaching experience
  • California Driver's License

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual Biliterate in Spanish
