About the position
The Research Coordinator, RN-I is responsible for overseeing the execution of research protocols while ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practice Guidelines and relevant regulations. This role involves coordinating clinical research activities, managing patient care, recruitment, and follow-up, and acting as a liaison among various stakeholders including the hospital, IRB, and study sponsors. The position requires collaboration with other research professionals to maintain the integrity and quality of research conducted.
Responsibilities
- Facilitates compliance with research protocol and good clinical practice while considering diverse patient needs.
- Communicates with the research team to ensure effective conduct of clinical trials.
- Demonstrates leadership in ensuring patient comprehension and safety during informed consent discussions.
- Manages activities of patients in clinical trials, ensuring compliance with protocol procedures and reporting requirements.
- Ensures collection of source data and completion of documentation validating the integrity of the clinical trial.
- Enhances recruitment while being mindful of diverse patient populations.
- Promotes adherence to ethical practices during clinical trials to protect patient rights and ensure quality data collection.
- Identifies financial variables affecting research and supports good financial stewardship in clinical trials.
- Identifies ongoing professional development needs and seeks resources to meet those needs.
Requirements
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- Minimum: Currently licensed nurse or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferred: 2 years of Oncology or Clinical Research Experience.
- Minimum: 2 years of Research or Clinical experience.
- Preferred: Certifications such as SOCRA, ACRP, CITI, HAZMAT, CCRP, or CCRC.
- Minimum: AHA BLS, RN.
Nice-to-haves
- Computer skills including MS Word.

- Experience with EMR and Clinical Trial Management System.
