About the position

As a Coordinator for Transportation Services at Envoy Air, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely operations of our services at Los Angeles International Airport. This position is designed for individuals who thrive in a dynamic environment and are committed to delivering outstanding customer service. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling all operational activities, which includes effective utilization of aircraft, facilities, equipment, and personnel. Your role will require you to gather and disseminate pertinent information to all operating departments, vendors, and downline stations, ensuring that everyone is informed and aligned with operational goals. In addition to operational coordination, you will monitor local weather conditions and make critical decisions regarding the suspension of operations when necessary to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment. You will collaborate with multiple outside agencies, including the FAA, TSA, and CBP, to maintain compliance and foster open communication with all business partners and air carriers. Your analytical skills will be put to use as you review and analyze reports, records, and directives, and you will be responsible for assigning or delegating specific work or functional activities to your team. You will also manage staffing schedules in accordance with the local budget, ensuring that operational and vacation shift bids are maintained. This role may require you to perform Transportation Agent duties as needed, providing you with a diverse range of responsibilities that contribute to the overall success of the airport operations team.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, coordinates and controls all operations activities to achieve safe, efficient, and on-time operations.
  • Gathers and disseminates pertinent information to all operating departments, vendors, and downline stations.
  • Monitors local weather conditions and suspends operations when required for safety.
  • Works with multiple outside agencies including FAA, TSA, and CBP.
  • Supports efforts to foster open communication with business partners and air carriers.
  • Reviews and analyzes reports, records, and directives.
  • Assigns or delegates responsibility for specified work or functional activities.
  • Schedules sufficient staffing per local budget and assists department managers with administrative projects.
  • Maintains oversight of all work groups.
  • May perform Transportation Agent duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum age: 18
  • High school diploma, GED, or international equivalent
  • Valid unexpired and unsuspended driver's license; commercial certification may be required by local airport authority
  • Excellent planning and organization skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Extensive operational knowledge within an airport environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Knowledge of Sabre using DECs and RES commands
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of company policies, procedures, and collective bargaining agreements
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English
  • Possess the legal right to work in the United States

Nice-to-haves

  • College degree or equivalent airline experience
  • Working experience with Ramp/Tower or passenger service
  • Customer Service management experience
  • Previous work within a Hub or large airport location
  • Cargo and Aircraft Maintenance knowledge
