About the position

The Coordinator Warranty/Asset, Physical Plant Operations is responsible for implementing the warranty program and ensuring compliance with project standards and District policies. This role involves processing warranty requests, managing the warranty database, and coordinating with the District Physical Plant Operations Department on extended warranties. Additionally, the position entails managing and tracking the District's assets, including inventory, buildings, and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain databases for equipment history, work orders, and preventive maintenance.
  • Ensure timely updates to the equipment history database for new equipment or systems.
  • Establish and maintain a database for all manufacturer specifications and operating procedures.
  • Coordinate with Physical Plant Operations personnel for efficient access to information.
  • Ensure accurate asset tracking by establishing parameters for asset identification.
  • Support enhancements to the computerized maintenance management system.
  • Manage asset disposition of inactive and obsolete assets.
  • Review asset information for warranties and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop asset management plans for renewals, purchases, or disposals.
  • Establish project warranty schedules and quality expectations.
  • Monitor departmental progress on warranty expiration and vendor responses.
  • Initiate warranty claims for defective parts or supplies.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend changes.
  • Participate in training programs to enhance skills related to responsibilities.
  • Research and familiarize with School District databases and performance evaluation models.
  • Ensure adherence to safety rules and procedures.

Requirements

  • An earned bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience in asset/property management or related field.
  • Strong understanding of general warranty terms, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Ability to assess and interpret technical documentation and specifications.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills as required for the position.

Nice-to-haves

  • Degree majors in finance, economics, business administration, or related field.
  • Bilingual skills.
