About the position

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Copy Editor to join our client's dynamic marketing team. The Copy Editor will play a key role in ensuring the highest quality of marketing materials, working closely with various internal teams to manage projects and maintain deadlines. This role requires an individual with a keen eye for detail, strong grammar and editing skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Copy edit and proofread print and electronic materials for clarity, grammar, accuracy, consistency, style, tone, and compliance with internal and external style guides.
  • Verify facts and statistics against both internal and external sources, ensuring information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Recommend edits based on the target audience and ensure all marketing collateral meets the highest standards.
  • Update quarterly/annual information, including statistical data and risk disclosures, ensuring consistency across web/digital platforms and print materials.
  • Copy edit and abridge content to fit specific sizing requirements, maintaining quality and coherence.
  • Ensure materials comply with legal and regulatory requirements by monitoring, tracking, and incorporating compliance language updates.
  • Use appropriate tools to ensure updates are correctly reflected across all digital channels.
  • Maintain and utilize copyediting resources such as AP Stylebook and Chicago Manual of Style, staying current with any style guide changes.
  • Apply sound judgment in resolving issues related to complex editing tasks and escalate matters as needed.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage production schedules and track deliverables, ensuring deadlines are met.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of copyediting experience, preferably in a financial, pharmaceutical, or medical industry.
  • Strong proficiency in spelling, punctuation, grammar, and style guides (Chicago Manual of Style, AP Style).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a sharp attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and diverse groups.
  • Knowledge of financial and investment concepts, with experience in editing content for financial, pharmaceutical, or medical environments strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
