About the position

The Electrical Engineer position at a leading full-service firm in Knoxville involves designing and developing electrical systems for various projects, including buildings and infrastructure. The role requires collaboration with architects and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of electrical designs. The engineer will oversee the production of engineering drawings, prepare technical reports, and provide construction administration support during the construction phase.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical systems for various projects, including buildings and infrastructure.
  • Create detailed electrical layouts, load calculations, and specifications for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems, and telecommunications.
  • Collaborate with architects and other engineering disciplines to ensure electrical designs integrate seamlessly with the overall project.
  • Oversee the production of engineering drawings and prepare technical reports.
  • Ensure compliance with industry codes and regulations during the design process.
  • Provide construction administration support, including reviewing submittals and responding to requests for information (RFIs).
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure implementation of designs meets quality and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and project teams to ensure successful project completion on time and within budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Minimum of 5-6 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • EI certification is mandatory.
  • PE registration is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in standard design software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Excellent technical and design calculation skills.
