About the position

The Strategic Software Sales Director at PagerDuty is responsible for leading a team of account executives to drive expansion business and ensure the success of the company's largest and most strategic accounts. This role emphasizes a consultative sales approach, focusing on understanding customer challenges and aligning solutions to deliver tangible business value. The director will create a high-performing team, execute regional business plans, and foster strong relationships with customers and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach a distributed team of up to 7 field account managers.
  • Formulate and execute a regional business plan to exceed targets and drive customer success.
  • Maximize time with customers and prospects to foster a predictable, high-growth business.
  • Accelerate and scale a strategic sales motion, ensuring adherence to sales processes and effective use of tools and technology.
  • Drive large, complex account development and sales motions.
  • Develop best-in-class capabilities around the entire lead to close process.
  • Foster a team-selling environment to leverage the full power of PagerDuty for every customer.
  • Support and coach sales representatives in account development, qualification, deal management, and closing activities.
  • Deliver timely and accurate pipeline information and forecasts to PagerDuty leadership.
  • Regularly assess sales effectiveness and identify solutions for improvement.
  • Partner closely with marketing, sales enablement, customer success, and solution consulting teams to drive sales performance.
  • Foster and accelerate strong ecosystem partner relationships to expand market coverage.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of enterprise sales leadership experience in high-growth, complex software environments.
  • Ability to operate as the CEO of your business, demonstrating strong strategy and operational competence.
  • Strong executive presence and relationship-building competencies.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting and exceeding sales quotas.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of 168,000 - 231,000 USD.
  • Eligibility for bonus, commission, equity, and/or benefits.
