About the position

The Copy Writer Mid-Level position at USAA involves creating and editing written content for various channels and audiences, including digital, print, and broadcast media. Responsibilities

• Creates new, and/or re-purposes existing, written content for use across channels and audiences.
• Collaborates with creative and business partners to achieve desired outcomes.
• Understands and practices principles and guidance outlined in USAA brand, content, and style guidelines.
• Contributes to and helps deliver on simultaneous assignments.
• Uses knowledge of industry and subject area best practices to ensure business objectives are met.
• Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, English, Journalism, or a related field; OR 4 years of related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
• 4 years of writing or editing experience within print, digital and/or video media.
• Proven track record in written communication skills, including advertising, business and persuasive writing.
• Proficient ability in editing, conscientious of structure, grammar, style and tone.
• Experience understanding and following brand and style guidelines for written communications.
• Proficiency in work-related tools, processes and software.

Nice-to-haves

• Digital Portfolio Required (PDF or online).
• In-house or Ad agency experience.
• Experience in the financial services industry.
• US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner.
