About the position

As a Cloud Content Writer at Akamai, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the voice and messaging of our brand through exceptional creative copy. Your primary responsibility will be to interpret creative briefs and develop content that not only addresses the pain points of our audience but also establishes Akamai's authority on various topics related to cloud computing. This position requires a deep understanding of the subject matter, which you will gain through extensive research, both internally and externally. You will engage in online searches, review existing research, and conduct interviews with internal subject matter experts to ensure that your content is both accurate and compelling. Your day-to-day tasks will involve writing original copy and editing content for a variety of corporate marketing and communications materials. This includes crafting engaging email campaigns, web content, advertising copy, infographics, social media posts, and long-form assignments such as blogs and whitepapers. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with a team of marketers and creative staff from the initial concept development stage all the way through to the delivery of the final product. You will also present your copy concepts and final deliverables to internal teams and stakeholders, and you may occasionally participate in internal pitches. Flexibility and responsiveness to feedback are essential, as you will need to revise your copy based on stakeholder input with agility and consistency. We are particularly interested in candidates who have a background in technology journalism or technical marketing experience in cloud computing. A minimum of 5 years of relevant marketing experience is required, along with a bachelor's or master's degree or equivalent professional experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong storytelling capabilities, are crucial for success in this role. You should possess a sharp editorial eye and a data-driven mindset, always testing and optimizing your content. Additionally, project management skills are important, as you will need to prioritize and execute tasks efficiently, especially when priorities shift. A firm grasp of SEO best practices and a high comfort level in using data to derive insights and actions will be beneficial. Familiarity with collaboration tools such as WebEx and Jira is also expected. Building alignment, trust, and productive relationships with cross-functional stakeholders and external partners will be a key aspect of your role.

  • Present copy concepts and final deliverables to an internal team and stakeholders as needed and occasionally participate in internal pitches.
  • Revise copy based on stakeholder feedback/direction with agility and consistency.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant marketing experience with a bachelor's or master's degree or equivalent professional experience.
