About the position

As a Copywriter on the Development and Fundraising team at Stand Together, you will be responsible for creating compelling communications aimed at engaging and retaining donors. This role focuses on crafting messages that inspire action and support for the organization's mission to address significant societal issues. You will work on various projects, including proposals, digital campaigns, and impact reports, to effectively communicate the organization's vision and initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Create copy for products targeted to major gifts, mid-level giving, and donor prospects.
• Write compelling multi-page proposals and digital campaigns for various donor levels, ensuring all copy aligns with brand and audience.
• Research organizations and campaigns to understand messaging on key issues and develop pitch concepts accordingly.
• Champion data-driven decisions and creative testing strategies to optimize campaign performance.
• Track and analyze performance of Direct Mail campaigns to improve strategies and results.
• Craft impact reports, newsletters, annual reports, and additional cultivation pieces.
• Create digital copy for landing pages, surveys, paid ads, and emails to drive donor growth and acquisition.
• Drive ongoing communication plans for existing donors.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in writing, grant writing, or marketing/communications for diverse audiences.
• Ability to work cross-functionally in a complex environment and influence stakeholders.
• Excellent time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
• Understanding of U.S. political dynamics and ability to simplify complex issues.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working in Adobe Art Design or similar design programs for direct mail production.
• Experience writing copy for mail and email solicitation and cultivation campaigns, as well as phone scripts for donor outreach.
