About the position

The Copywriter I role at AAA Washington is a marketing-focused position aimed at creating engaging and original copy that resonates with the brand's voice. The role involves collaboration with various teams to produce copy for diverse platforms, including print, web, email, and social media, while supporting marketing initiatives and internal communications.

Responsibilities

• Work with Senior Copywriter to create and develop original copy that embodies the brand voice.
• Write copy for print, web, email, social, video, and more, including marketing and sales materials as well as internal communications.
• Collaborate with graphic designers to create marketing and advertising solutions that communicate core ideas effectively.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders across departments to implement and support marketing initiatives.
• Follow schedules and established formats while working with the production manager and other creative team members.
• Attend project-related meetings and contribute constructively.
• Provide proofreading for marketing materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in communication, journalism, English, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 1+ years' experience in marketing/advertising copywriting and collaborating with graphic designers/art directors.
• Competent in Microsoft Office and navigating the internet.
• Familiarity with MacOS and Mac hardware.
• Competent in entering/manipulating copy within Adobe InDesign and other Creative Suite applications.
• Ability to plan, write, and present target-specific copy.

Nice-to-haves

• 1+ year experience working at a creative agency or on an in-house creative team.
• Familiarity with creative briefs.
• Familiarity with SEO principles.
