About the position

At CookUnity, the Brand Marketing team is dedicated to developing and executing world-class marketing activations that drive brand awareness and foster loyalty. The team sets the vision and strategy for the brand, bringing it to life with strategic rigor, creative excellence, and cultural relevance. Through insight-inspired, data-informed brand storytelling and experiences, CookUnity's Brand Marketing team aims to build a category-defining brand that resonates with a generation of food enthusiasts. We are currently seeking an ambitious and creative copywriter to help bring our chefs' culinary creations to life through engaging and enticing food copywriting. In this role, your words will inform and captivate our customers, showcasing the unique flavors, ingredients, and health benefits of each dish. You will work closely with our chefs, supply teams, and Brand team to ensure that our meal descriptions align with our brand voice and marketing strategies. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker with a passion for food and storytelling. You will report to CookUnity's Chief Storyteller and collaborate with influential leaders throughout the company. This position is open to US Remote locations.

Responsibilities

  • Write clear, engaging, and persuasive meal descriptions and titles that highlight the unique selling points of each dish.
  • Create chef bios to showcase the unique talents of each of our creators.
  • Develop copy for our food collections on the site to help promote and sell our products weekly.
  • Craft emotional meal descriptions for the front of meal sleeves.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of CookUnity's audience and customers to ensure all copy is highly relevant and resonant with our target audience.
  • Ensure all copy aligns with the brand's tone, style, and messaging guidelines.
  • Conduct research on food trends, ingredients, and culinary techniques to enhance the quality of descriptions.
  • Edit and proofread copy for accuracy, grammar, and consistency.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitor offerings to maintain a competitive edge.

Requirements

  • 1-2+ years experience writing product level copy.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Understanding of sales techniques to help sell and promote different meal types.
  • Attention to detail, good communication skills, and an ability to juggle multiple tasks on often short deadlines.
  • Understanding of food, nutrition, and culinary terminology.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Food writing experience in the food industry.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to create engaging and persuasive content that resonates with target audiences.
