About the position

The Copywriter for US Prime & Marketing Tech at Amazon will play a crucial role in enhancing the customer shopping experience on amazon.com. This position involves writing and editing copy for various marketing programs and channels, focusing on e-commerce merchandising and digital marketing. The ideal candidate will be creative, strategic, and able to work independently while collaborating with multiple teams to achieve marketing goals.

Responsibilities

  • Writing short-and long-form copy for e-commerce and digital marketing content at the product, collection, and brand levels.
  • Collaborating with editors and designers to create cohesive merchandising stories for customers.
  • Working with marketing managers to design and perform experiments to optimize messaging.
  • Contributing to brand and seasonal style guides.
  • Proofreading content through various stages of presentation and production.
  • Writing and editing for related retail marketing needs, including print media, advertising, and presentations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a copywriter in a retail, editorial, agency, or related digital marketing organization.
  • Experience following brand guidelines and applicable style guides.
  • Experience collaborating with marketing managers, designers, and art directors to develop and finalize content.
  • Experience presenting work to members of the organization through both written and verbal communication.
  • Exceptional knowledge of English spelling, grammar, and relevant industry terminology.
  • Available digital portfolio or work samples.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience writing copy for retail across various categories such as electronics, apparel, beauty, home, or related lifestyle retail brands.
  • Extensive knowledge of the retail industry and related consumer trends.
  • Ability to craft editorial stories from product marketing needs.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and deliver well-crafted copy on tight timelines.
  • Ability to generate creative copy solutions that solve for problems, including limited word count and multiple messaging goals.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage several projects at once while tracking details and status of each.
  • Obsessive attention to detail.
