About the position

The Copywriter at Asset Marketing Services, LLC (AMS) will be a key member of the Brand & Creative Team, responsible for crafting engaging and persuasive copy across various marketing channels. This role focuses on enhancing the GOVMINT brand through storytelling and effective communication, aiming to motivate customers to purchase products and engage with the brand. The Copywriter will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that all written materials are well-researched, organized, and aligned with project objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Evolve copywriting for the GOVMINT brand through thought-leadership and storytelling.
  • Write engaging, action-oriented copy for all marketing channels including catalog, direct mail, print ads, collateral, landing pages, email, TV, video, and direct response channels.
  • Assist in copywriting for social channels, website, and blog.
  • Develop copy strategies for different audience segments at various points in the customer journey.
  • Assist in the development of content/copy style guides & playbooks.
  • Blend storytelling with persuasive messaging to entice customers to act.
  • Participate in creative kick-off and brainstorm meetings for writing assignments.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to obtain project objectives and necessary research.
  • Proofread/edit to ensure accuracy and quality of copy materials.
  • Collaborate with graphic designers and art directors for timely execution of projects.
  • Self-prioritize workload and work with Project Managers to meet deadlines.
  • Explore and utilize new technologies to improve copy content efficiency.
  • Present work at Creative Reviews for critique and input from various departments.
  • Ensure all copy conforms to corporate Advertising Guidelines.
  • Serve as Editor/contributor for company newsletter and related communications.

Requirements

  • 4-year English or Journalism college degree and/or 3-5 years of copywriting experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of advertising copywriting experience, including catalog and direct response copy.
  • Experience developing copy across programs with numerous touchpoints across print and digital.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills with strong storytelling abilities.
  • Ability to translate sales points into compelling reasons to purchase.
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite software, especially InDesign.
  • Previous experience working in a direct response marketing environment.
  • Previous experience in coins, collectibles, and other high-end, aspirational niche product lines.
