About the position

Join Road Runner Sports as our next Copywriter. In this role, you will be responsible for writing powerful, purposeful marketing copy to drive a world-class customer experience across all platforms including web, retail, email, and print. The Copywriter's focus is on driving revenue and engagement through attention-grabbing content, persuasive calls-to-action, expert product knowledge, and SEO. Turning creative direction into copy concepts that represent the brand is critical to the success of this role. As a Copywriter, you will work closely with the Head of Copy and Content, project managers, and team members to strategize marketing communication. You will write personalized and segmented messaging for email, print, retail, and web content to create relevant, value-added customer experiences that increase engagement, conversion, and value for our VIP loyalty programs. Additionally, you will review and edit social media content, making recommendations for continuous improvement to messaging and processes. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will brainstorm with the blog content team to update existing blog content and write new stories. Upholding a consistent brand voice across all platforms is essential, and you will continually share insights with team members. You will also be expected to bring new messaging ideas and innovative copy approaches to enhance the customer experience, driving growth and engagement. Producing high-quality, error-free content that meets the standards of Road Runner Sports brand guidelines is a fundamental part of your responsibilities. Continuous development and commitment to our communication vision and shared values will be expected as well.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Head of Copy and Content, project managers, and team members to strategize marketing communication.
  • Write personalized and segmented messaging for email, print, retail, and web content to create relevant, value-added customer experiences.
  • Review and edit social media content and make recommendations for continuous improvement to messaging and process.
  • Collaborate and brainstorm with the blog content team to update existing blog content and write new stories.
  • Uphold a consistent brand voice across web, email, retail, social media, and grassroots marketing.
  • Bring new messaging ideas and innovative copy approaches to the customer experience driving growth and engagement.
  • Produce high-quality, error-free content ensuring it meets the standards of Road Runner Sports brand guidelines.
  • Provide continuous development and commitment to our communication vision and shared values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Marketing, or Journalism/Technical Communications.
  • 4+ years of experience in omnichannel marketing copywriting.
  • Expert with Asana project management tool and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact, influence and align with all levels of the organization, both internal and external.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, typically with short deadlines.
  • Remain up to date with current running/fitness culture and trends.
  • Experience writing different content for different audiences as part of a robust segmentation strategy.
