About the position

KONG is seeking an experienced Copywriter with 3-5 years of experience in both B2B and B2C marketing for the pet and consumer products sector. The role focuses on crafting compelling and persuasive copy that engages the target audience while maintaining the brand voice. The Copywriter will collaborate with various teams to create content across multiple channels, including digital, websites, email, social media, and more.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality, creative copy for marketing materials, product descriptions, website content, and social media campaigns that resonate with pet owners.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to create content strategies that align with company goals and target audience needs.
• Take complex educational materials and write compelling, consumer-friendly copy.
• Understand retail and on-pack communication hierarchy.
• Conduct research on industry trends, consumer behaviors, target audiences, and competitors to inform copy and creative strategy.
• Edit and proofread copy to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with brand standards and final art.
• Work closely with graphic designers and other team members to ensure visuals and copy are cohesive and effective.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas for campaigns and product launches.
• Work in a collaborative, enthusiastic, high energy, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
• Maintain an eagle-eye for detail and proofreading.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
• 3-5 years of professional copywriting experience, preferably in the pet or consumer products industry.
• Strong portfolio showcasing diverse writing samples relevant to marketing and advertising.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to adapt writing style to fit different platforms and audiences.
• Familiarity with SEO best practices and digital marketing strategies is a plus.
• Passion for pets and understanding of the pet owner market.
