About the position

Wintrust Marketing is seeking a talented and experienced Copywriter to join their creative team. This role involves crafting engaging content that highlights the bank's services, builds brand awareness, and supports community initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a skilled writer and editor, capable of turning strategic ideas into compelling narratives that resonate with various audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Write clear, compelling, and engaging copy for various assets including video, website content, emails, social media, brochures, radio, and newsletters.
  • Collaborate with marketing and design teams to develop creative concepts and execute campaigns that align with brand voice and community goals.
  • Research local trends and stay updated on banking products to ensure accuracy and relevance in communications.
  • Edit and proofread content to ensure clarity, grammar, and adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Assist in creating content strategies that drive customer engagement and highlight commitment to community banking.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate new ideas for community-focused campaigns and projects.
  • Maintain a consistent tone and style across all marketing materials, tailored to target audiences as needed.
  • Support Marketing Managers and Senior Copywriters with additional copywriting and administrative tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years' experience as a Copywriter or Content Creator, preferably in financial services.
  • Portfolio demonstrating ability to conceive ideas and write various content types for diverse audiences across digital marketing platforms.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and experience using project management software.
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Marketing/Advertising, Creative Writing, or English preferred.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to adapt to a brand's voice and tone, with a passion for storytelling and community engagement.
  • Basic understanding of marketing principles and content strategy.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in financial services writing is a plus.
  • Familiarity with content strategy development.
