About the position

The Copywriter position at Copeland involves leading storytelling efforts across various marketing channels to enhance the brand's voice and narrative. This role requires collaboration with design and cross-functional teams to create strategic copy that supports company initiatives and resonates with target audiences. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong background in marketing writing, capable of managing multiple projects and adapting messaging for different demographics.

Responsibilities

  • Write strategic copy and messaging for company and product initiatives including website content, social media, email campaigns, advertisements, brochures, product descriptions, scripts for videos, online training modules/webinars, presentations, blog articles, and thought leadership pieces.
  • Adapt tone, style, and messaging to suit different product lines and target demographics while maintaining a consistent brand voice.
  • Conduct thorough research on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities to inform content development.
  • Brainstorm and develop creative concepts independently and collaboratively that advance marketing strategies and integrated campaigns.
  • Review and refine existing copy across all channels to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with the design team and other department leads to ensure a cohesive visual and verbal brand story.
  • Utilize digital and AI tools to enhance content creation and optimize workflows.
  • Manage multiple projects through project management software to meet deadlines from concept to delivery.
  • Stay current on trends and best practices to keep the brand at the forefront of the industry.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in English, Journalism, or related field, plus a minimum of 5 years of related marketing writing experience across both digital and traditional channels.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to organize a daily workload and prioritize tasks.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Experience in project management software (i.e., Monday.com).
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • Experience with UX writing and understanding of user journeys, especially in digital contexts.
  • Experience developing scripts, prompts, and narratives for AI models, while reviewing and refining content for clarity, accuracy, and engagement.
  • Knowledge of content accessibility standards and inclusive writing practices.
  • Familiarity with AP, Chicago, or another recognized editorial style guide, with experience adapting for brand-specific guidelines.
  • Experience conducting A/B testing and using insights to iterate on content for improved performance.
