About the position

The Creative Services Copywriter at Wind Creek IL LLC plays a pivotal role in crafting engaging and original copy across a variety of marketing channels. This includes outdoor advertising, print media, television, radio, direct mail, collateral, websites, emails, apps, social media, and video content. The primary goal is to promote the extensive portfolio of Wind Creek Hospitality, which encompasses casinos, hotels, racetracks, restaurants, and entertainment centers. The ideal candidate will have a robust portfolio showcasing their copywriting prowess, with a strong emphasis on creativity to develop compelling headlines and effective call-to-action materials for direct marketing campaigns. In this role, the Copywriter is expected to ensure that all work produced meets the highest quality standards and aligns with the brand's values. This involves creating messaging that not only captivates but also motivates desired behaviors through innovative ideas at every point of contact. Collaboration is key, as the Copywriter will work closely with graphic designers, video and animation specialists, and both internal and external stakeholders to produce impactful advertising materials. The Copywriter will also be responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that all copy is accurate, consistent, and adheres to brand standards. The position requires participation in departmental meetings and collaboration with internal customers to ensure that all messaging aligns with the company's brand standards as outlined in the corporate brand manual. The Copywriter will also be tasked with reviewing all copy for grammatical accuracy and consistency, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the marketing efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Create compelling short and long-form copy across various marketing channels including outdoor, print, TV, radio, direct mail, collateral, websites, emails, apps, social media, and video.
  • Collaborate with graphic designers, video & animation specialists, and internal/external stakeholders to produce effective advertising materials.
  • Ensure all work meets the highest quality standards and aligns with brand values.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Review all copy for accuracy, consistency, grammar, and adherence to brand standards.
  • Participate in department and internal customer meetings as appropriate.
  • Support company brand standards as specified in the corporate brand standards manual.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled in a GED program with completion within 6 months from start date.
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Advertising, Creative Writing, Marketing, Communications or a related field required.
  • Three (3) years of experience in an advertising or marketing environment required.
  • Three (3) years of experience writing advertising copy required.
  • Portfolio demonstrating experience in writing copy for television, radio, newspaper, outdoor, and print that supports tactical, brand, and promotional campaigns at a regional and/or national level.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstration of branding and conceptual development.
  • Active listening skills to understand and respond to internal customer feedback and critiques.
  • Ability to creatively articulate advertising solutions across all relevant communication platforms.
  • Conceptual thinker who can execute ideas efficiently while adhering to established guidelines and templates.
  • Ability to understand operational documents, creative briefs, and intake forms, and translate them into clear and logical final pieces.
