About the position

The Copywriter for the Costco Auto Program is responsible for creating compelling copy across various media, including print and digital advertising, website content, and promotional materials. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong communication skills and a solid understanding of marketing trends and best practices. The position involves collaboration with teams to develop creative solutions that meet marketing objectives and ensure compliance with accessibility standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop fresh and creative headline concepts and body copy for print, web, broadcast, point-of-sale materials, and email.
  • Work collaboratively to provide the best creative solutions to meet specific marketing objectives.
  • Understand direct-response copywriting, call-to-action, and script development.
  • Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of ad copy.
  • Proofread and ensure the quality of any outgoing correspondence.
  • Collaborate with the Manager to create and maintain an editorial calendar and complete writing assignments.
  • Work with the web-development team to implement ADA-compliance changes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Excellent writing skills with a minimum of five years of experience.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Marketing, Advertising, English, or Journalism, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong business-to-business and business-to-consumer background in marketing.
  • Experience producing a variety of copy, including emails, newsletters, web content, and print marketing materials.
  • Familiarity with AP style and work-management tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively.
  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented and resourceful with a passion for excellence.
