About the position

The Audio & Media Technologies (AMT) group at Apple is seeking a triage engineer to join the Audio Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) team. This role involves debugging and investigating software issues, building tools and systems, and using engineering analysis to solve complex problems related to audio I/O across Apple's operating systems. The position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for enhancing the audio experience for customers and developers.

Responsibilities

• Debug and investigate software issues within the Audio Hardware Abstraction Layer.
• Build tools and systems to support audio functionalities.
• Conduct engineering analysis to solve audio-related problems.
• Ensure quick resolution of bugs and support developer-facing APIs for applications and drivers.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with other teams to address audio issues.

Requirements

• 3+ years of industry experience in software development.
• Solid understanding of digital audio software and systems.
• Development experience with Swift, Python, Javascript, or other scripting/coding languages, preferably low-level experience with C/C++.
• Understanding of operating systems and/or real-time systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
