About the position
The Core Charge Nurse at Children's Mercy plays a pivotal role in leading nursing staff during scheduled shifts, ensuring high-quality patient and family care. Responsibilities
- Provides leadership for nursing staff to support high quality care of patients and families during scheduled shifts.
- Collaborates with the Nursing Department Director, Nurse Manager, and Hospital Shift Supervisor to ensure safe, high quality patient care.
- Facilitates effective problem solving, communication, and collaboration between stakeholders.
- Utilizes the nursing process to plan and provide a comprehensive, collaborative, age-appropriate plan of care for patients and families.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
- 3-5 years of nursing experience required.
- Licensed RN in Kansas or Registered Nurse Multistate License required upon hire.
- Licensed RN in Missouri or Registered Nurse Multistate License required upon hire.
- Life Support Certifications required upon hire.
- Specialty Certification relevant to unit's patient population preferred.
