About the position

We are seeking an experienced Java Developer to join our technology team, focusing on a critical regulatory project in the investment banking sector. The role requires strong technical skills in Java and a deep understanding of object-oriented design, along with experience in frameworks and technologies essential for compliant financial applications.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Java applications critical to the regulatory functions of investment banking.
  • Ensure the delivery of highly reliable, scalable, and performant code that complies with stringent regulatory standards.
  • Utilize Java frameworks such as DropWizard, Spring, and Hibernate to build robust backend services.
  • Work with web development frameworks (Angular or React) to create intuitive and compliant user interfaces.
  • Integrate with distributed storage systems (DB2, Oracle, Cassandra, MongoDB) ensuring data consistency and scalability.
  • Employ CI/CD pipelines using Git to streamline development and deployment processes.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to implement features that adhere to regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and improve the performance of existing software, ensuring all systems are up to regulatory standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to peers and junior developers.
  • Stay abreast of the latest technology trends and best practices in the investment banking regulatory space.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of Java development, with a solid grasp of object-oriented design principles.
  • Demonstrable experience with Java frameworks such as DropWizard, Spring, and Hibernate.
  • Experience with front-end development frameworks like AngularJS or ReactJS is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of distributed storage systems including DB2, Oracle, Cassandra, and MongoDB.
  • Experience with Git and familiarity with CI/CD practices.
  • Working knowledge of Unix/Linux environments is essential.
  • Familiarity with the investment banking domain, particularly with regulatory projects, is a plus.
