About the position

The Core Java + Mainframe Developer position at The Judge Group Inc. is a hybrid role based in Jersey City, NJ, focusing on developing and maintaining software solutions using Core Java and Mainframe technologies. The role requires a strong understanding of web services and various programming languages, with an emphasis on Agile methodologies and software engineering best practices. This is a temp-to-hire position, allowing for a transition into a permanent role after the initial period.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software solutions using Core Java and Mainframe technologies.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and improve software applications.
• Collaborate with team members to implement Agile methodologies in the development process.
• Utilize web service skills to enhance application functionality.
• Work with DB2 and SQL for database management and queries.

Requirements

• 5+ years of coding experience in Java.
• 5+ years of experience with DB2 and SQL.
• 3+ years of experience with Cobol and a strong understanding of Mainframe concepts.
• Proficient in Core Java development skills and multiple design techniques.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and frameworks.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AWS.
• UI creation skills using Angular or React.
