About the position

As a Core Operations Valuation Senior Analyst at Capital Group, you will play a critical role in leading our daily valuation process, with a focus on fair valuation and hard-to-value assets. Your responsibilities will include performing in-depth valuation analysis and developing, maintaining, and reviewing financial models and methodologies, such as discounted cash flow and market approach analyses, in accordance with all relevant global regulatory and accounting standards. You will analyze and interpret various valuation and liquidity-related data, presenting your findings to senior leaders and oversight committees. Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring, reviewing, and testing liquidity classifications of investments and conducting stress testing in compliance with global regulatory requirements. In this role, you will leverage your advanced knowledge and a minimum of 5 years' experience in performing valuations on private equity, private credit, and other level 3 assets. You will be proficient in creating financial models and methodologies specific to private credit across a diverse range of companies, utilizing techniques such as discounted cash flow and comparable company analysis. Your understanding of private credit markets will be essential, as will your excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, allowing you to analyze company financial statements and assess the impact of industry or market news on fair value. You will also need to be well-versed in the legal and regulatory environment governing private credit investments, including relevant accounting standards and reporting requirements. Your role will require effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey complex ideas, processes, and situations to various audiences, including senior business leaders, investment analysts, portfolio managers, and oversight committees. You will need to navigate ambiguous and highly complex situations, creating clarity, demonstrating sound judgment, and driving towards effective outcomes. Working well under pressure and meeting critical deadlines in a time-sensitive environment will be crucial to your success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily valuation process focusing on fair valuation and hard-to-value assets.
  • Perform in-depth valuation analysis and develop, maintain, and review financial models and methodologies.
  • Analyze and interpret various valuation and liquidity-related data and present findings to senior leaders and oversight committees.
  • Monitor, review, and test liquidity classifications of investments and conduct stress testing in accordance with global regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of performing valuations on private equity, private credit, and other level 3 assets with a minimum of 5 years' experience.
  • Proficient in creating financial models and methodologies specific to private credit across a diverse range of companies.
  • Knowledge of private credit markets and excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to analyze company financial statements and assess the impact of company, industry, or market news on fair value.
  • Understanding of the legal and regulatory environment governing private credit investments, including relevant accounting standards and reporting requirements.
  • Experience in assessing the creditworthiness of borrowers, including analyzing financial statements and cash flow projections.
  • Effective communication skills to convey complex ideas to various audiences.

Nice-to-haves

  • Active CPA and/or minimum of CFA level 1 is preferred, but not required.
