As a Core Operations Valuation Analyst at Capital Group, you will play a critical role in supporting the daily valuation process. Your responsibilities will encompass preparing and reviewing daily and periodic valuation tasks, assessing and tracking vendor performance, and presenting monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc valuation reports to internal committees. You will conduct in-depth valuation analysis, primarily focusing on equities and foreign exchange rates, ensuring accuracy and compliance with both regulatory and internal policies. Your role will also involve analyzing and interpreting various valuation and liquidity-related data, presenting your findings to senior leaders and oversight committees. In addition, you will be responsible for monitoring, reviewing, and testing liquidity classifications of investments and conducting stress testing in accordance with global regulatory requirements. This position requires a strong knowledge of securities, financial markets, and valuation techniques such as discounted cash flow, comparable company analysis, and spread pricing. Familiarity with mutual funds, the investment management industry, and GAAP experience will be beneficial. You will interact and manage relationships with vendors, particularly pricing vendors, and perform due diligence as necessary. Daily validation of third-party vendor prices will also be part of your responsibilities. Your analytical and problem-solving capabilities will be crucial as you analyze company financial statements and assess the impact of company, industry, or market news on fair value. Attention to detail and quality in work deliverables is essential. You will also have opportunities to mentor team members, provide constructive feedback, and dissect processes to complete projects efficiently. Working under pressure and meeting critical deadlines in a time-sensitive environment will be key aspects of your role. Effective communication, both verbal and written, of complex ideas and processes to various audiences, including senior business leaders, investment analysts, portfolio managers, and oversight committees, will be vital for success in this position.
