About the position

The Payroll & Benefits Specialist at Crafty Apes VFX is responsible for managing payroll and administering benefits for a global workforce. This role requires extensive knowledge of Ceridian Dayforce and involves processing payroll across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and providing support for employee benefits programs. The position is remote and emphasizes a dynamic and inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately and timely processing payroll for employees in multiple jurisdictions including Canada, the United States, and the UK.
  • Ensure timely submission of payroll data and manage direct deposit processing.
  • Verify and input timekeeping information, manage payroll deductions, garnishments, and adjustments.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Handle payroll-related queries and issues promptly and effectively.
  • Maintain and manage configuration of the Ceridian Dayforce system, including updates and integrations with third-party systems.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of data within the system.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other company provided benefits.
  • Manage employee benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations, coordinate with benefits providers and resolve employee queries.
  • Conduct benefits audits and generate reports to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide support during the open enrollment period.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees regarding benefits programs and options.
  • Coordinate the administration of Crafty Ape's benefit plans to ensure accurate participant enrollment.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll and benefits laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and file all necessary payroll tax returns and reports.
  • Manage year-end processes, including the preparation of W-2s, T-4s and other relevant documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Prepare and submit all required payroll and benefits reports and filings.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure payroll and benefits data accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide general HR support to the Department.
  • Attend weekly Recruitment and HR Meetings.
  • Other projects assigned on a needed basis.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration, with a focus on multi-jurisdictional payroll.
  • Proven experience with Ceridian Dayforce is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian, US, and UK payroll regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and process management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and proactive mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
