About the position

IMSG is seeking a full-time Proposal Writer/Editor to join their expanding Proposal and Papers Team. This role involves technical and non-technical writing/editing of corporate solicitation responses, particularly in the fields of science and technology, aimed at Federal Government and commercial interests. The position supports a hybrid work model and requires collaboration with various teams to ensure proposals meet quality and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Write and edit technical and non-technical content for corporate solicitation responses.
• Collaborate with the Proposal Manager, Business Development Manager, and Operations Team.
• Ensure consistency in proposal writing and compliance with RFP guidelines.
• Work with design teams to incorporate visuals into proposals.
• Support the development of IMSG's annual Outreach Strategic Plan.
• Assist with short and long-term special projects as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, English, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in writing federal proposal responses in technology and/or scientific fields.
• Demonstrable experience in atmospheric sciences, meteorology, oceanography, marine sciences, or environmental satellite remote sensing.
• High proficiency in MS Office suite.
• Detail-oriented, well-organized, and self-motivated.

Nice-to-haves

• Structured Shipley Proposal Certification
• Project or program management experience.
• Experience with federal agencies such as NOAA or NASA.
• Knowledge in IT, cloud computing, and Agile development.
