About the position

Asana is seeking a Corporate Account Executive for the EDU and Public Sector, based in San Francisco. This role is integral to our sales team, which is dedicated to establishing efficient pathways to cultivate successful, long-term customer relationships. Our approach employs a bottom-up enterprise sales model, focusing on nurturing small, successful customers into larger, thriving accounts. As a Corporate Account Executive, you will serve as a vital voice for our customers, collaborating closely with the product team to identify and address technical, educational, and competitive challenges that may hinder our growth. In this position, you will be responsible for acquiring new customers and fostering passionate advocates for Asana. You will play a key role in defining our go-to-market strategy for verticals, working collaboratively with a talented team that emphasizes seamless integration with other departments to drive success. The role operates on a hybrid schedule, with standard in-office days on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, while Wednesdays are typically remote, and Fridays may vary based on team needs. Your primary objectives will include defining territory and outbound strategies to generate a robust pipeline of new business opportunities, owning the full sales-cycle process from prospecting to closing, and continuously building and maintaining a pipeline of new business opportunities. You will collaborate with sales development, marketing, and customer success teams to create a dynamic ecosystem that fosters customer success, while also playing a significant role in shaping Asana's strategic direction in vertical markets. Surpassing sales targets will be supported by a collaborative sales enablement team, and you will have the opportunity to innovate and experiment with new processes to enhance value for our vertical customers.

Responsibilities

  • Define territory and outbound strategies that enable sales velocity in generating a robust pipeline of new business opportunities.
  • Own the full sales-cycle process for new business accounts, engaging with organizations of various sizes, from prospect to close.
  • Continuously build and maintain a pipeline of new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with sales development, marketing, and customer success teams to foster a dynamic ecosystem of customer success.
  • Play a key role in shaping Asana's strategic direction in vertical markets.
  • Surpass targets with the support of a collaborative sales enablement team.
  • Innovate and experiment with new processes to enhance value for vertical customers.
  • Recognize patterns and contribute to strategizing the vertical go-to-market approach.

Requirements

  • 4-6+ years of relevant sales experience with a proven track record in closing business.
  • 4+ years of experience selling into small and mid-sized organizations.
  • Direct experience or knowledge pertinent to vertical markets.
  • Ability to excel in a results-oriented environment within a rapidly scaling business.
  • Exceptional customer skills including strong communication, presentation, empathy, integrity, and a passion for solving business challenges.
  • Proven track record in new customer acquisition, ideally with experience in selling to functions such as Marketing, Sales, Product, HR, and IT.
  • Strategic thinker adaptable to changing conditions, with an entrepreneurial spirit and solution-oriented mindset.
