About the position

The Corporate Accountability Program Manager will oversee corporate compliance activities within the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) Office of Business Development. This role involves managing an annual reporting process and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure adherence to state laws, particularly the Corporate Accountability Act (CAA). The position aims to support the business community in Illinois through effective policy formulation and implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Formulates and implements policies for the Division of Business Finance.
  • Formulates and implements the Corporate Accountability Act (CAA) function, including assisting beneficiaries of state assistance with annual reporting.
  • Plans for the effective monitoring of CAA compliance.
  • Organizes the goals and objectives of the Corporate Accountability Program Manager.
  • Supervises staff.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

  • Completion of four (4) years of college with courses in business, economics, and finance.
  • Four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or business entity working with business projects, preferably involving financial restructuring.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least one (1) year experience managing economic development programs, including grants, loans, tax incentives, or technical assistance.
  • Two (2) or more years of professional experience in economics, marketing, and/or business administration or related compliance activity.
  • Six (6) months experience managing Corporate Accountability Act compliance in Illinois.
  • At least one (1) year experience managing government programs including tax incentives and grant programs.
  • Three (3) years' experience developing program goals and measurable objectives.
  • Two (2) years' experience working with business communities to ensure compliance with program requirements.
