About the position

The Corporate Accounting Co-op position at Wayfair offers a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in the finance sector while working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This co-op program runs from January 6, 2025, to June 20, 2025, and is based in Wayfair's Boston headquarters. The Finance team is composed of detail-oriented individuals who are responsible for overseeing the company's financial health and supporting operational and business planning. The accounting team plays a crucial role in recording and reconciling financial transactions, ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations, and preparing external financial reports such as the SEC filings (10-K and 10-Q). This position will allow co-op students to engage in various accounting tasks, collaborate with different teams, and contribute to the overall financial operations of the company. As a co-op, you will be involved in the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and account fluctuation analyses. You will assist in the preparation of SEC filings and respond to ad-hoc audit requests. The role also includes miscellaneous reporting tasks for finance stakeholders and business partners, providing a comprehensive view of the accounting processes within a large organization. This position is designed for students who are eager to learn and contribute to the financial operations of Wayfair while developing their professional skills in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of journal entries
  • Preparation of account reconciliations
  • Account fluctuation analysis
  • Assist in preparation of SEC 10Q and 10K Filings
  • Ad-hoc audit and internal audit requests
  • Miscellaneous reporting requests for both Finance stakeholders and business partners
  • Collaborate with other teams within Finance

Requirements

  • Current Sophomore, Junior, or Senior student pursuing an undergraduate degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., accounting, finance, economics, business administration) with a 3.0 GPA minimum
  • Must be returning to the course of study following the completion of the Co-op
  • The ability to commit to working 40 hours/week (9am-5pm, Monday-Friday) from January 6 to June 20, 2025 in our Boston office
  • You must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by Wayfair now or in the future
