About the position

The Corporate Accounting Manager at ASC Engineered Solutions will play a pivotal role in planning and directing the accounting activities of the General Accounting department. This position is essential for ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of general ledger data, which includes account reconciliations. The manager will oversee the systems, processes, and controls necessary for gathering data and analyzing information, confirming the accuracy of reports, and providing recommendations for improving accounting methods. In addition to managing people and processes, the Corporate Accounting Manager will establish and enhance internal controls, processes, and guidelines for accounting transactions. A deep understanding of the company's financial and business operations is crucial, as the manager will support cross-functional teams in comprehending the accounting impacts of various business activities. The role also involves responsibility for core accounting programs, including automated account reconciliation and lease accounting applications, as well as select functions of the enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. The manager will oversee the production of periodic financial reports, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards. Coordination with outside auditors is also a key responsibility, as the manager will provide necessary information for the annual external audit. Furthermore, the Corporate Accounting Manager will support and conduct technical accounting research and documentation for new accounting standards and significant company transactions, presenting recommendations to management on both short- and long-term financial objectives and policies. This role will also involve supporting various projects within finance and the overall business, providing accounting support and expertise where applicable, and performing other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Manage people, processes, and systems to ensure accurate and timely preparation of general ledger data, including account reconciliations.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • Five years or more of related experience required.
  • Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
