About the position

The Corporate Accounts Payable Assistant at Progress Rail Services Corp. is responsible for providing financial, administrative, and clerical support to the organization. This role focuses on controlling expenses by processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices in a timely and efficient manner according to established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Uploading and processing Accounts Payable invoices
  • Optimizing invoice automation and processing invoice exception queues
  • Performing extensive research on problem invoices and determining root cause analysis
  • Supporting the Accounts Payable Supervisor to achieve corporate and departmental goals
  • Following established accounting policies and procedures
  • Participating in special projects and other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Associate degree or higher preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years intermediate Accounts Payable experience preferred
  • Action-oriented and solution-driven
  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word)
  • 10-key calculator skills
  • Experience with LN, SourceDay, Coupa or other payables system is a plus
  • Proven interpersonal, communication and team building skills
  • Strong problem-solving and multi-tasking skills
  • Highly organized and able to maintain accurate information in multiple systems
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a high-volume environment

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with LN, SourceDay, Coupa or other payables system is a plus
