About the position

The Accounts Receivable position at Baptist Health South Florida is responsible for managing various functions within the Revenue Cycle, specifically related to insurance and patient payment processing. This role involves ensuring timely posting of electronic remits, handling bank statement downloads, and effectively communicating with various departments to resolve posting delays and issues. The position is crucial for maintaining the financial health of the organization by ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of functions within the Accounts Receivable area of Revenue Cycle related to insurance and patient payment processing and data entry.
• Work daily download of bank statements for various bank accounts.
• Optimize timely posting of electronic remits, lockbox remits, insurance credit card payments, patient FSA/HRA payments, and mailed-in checks to match daily deposits.
• Communicate effectively with all BHSF Departments responsible for posting delays and issues.
• Work with AR Management to achieve resolution of posting issues.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required; AA preferred or equivalent work experience.
• Experience and understanding of all required fields on an EOB (Deductibles, Co-insurance, Copay, and Contractual obligations).
• Knowledge of ERA posting, including payments, denials, and PLBs.
• Understanding of medical terminology.
• Strong computer literacy skills and website navigation.
• Knowledge of all Microsoft applications.
• Extensive analytical, critical thinking, detail-oriented, problem-solving, good mathematical, writing, and interpersonal skills required.
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to multi-task and work under pressure.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with financial software and systems.
