Corporate Attorney

About the position

The Corporate Attorney at WinCo Foods plays a crucial role in providing legal counsel across various domains, including real estate, employment, and business contracts. This position involves preparing, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of legal documents, ensuring compliance with laws, and supporting internal departments and outside counsel in legal matters. The attorney will also manage real estate and construction transactions, assist in employment litigation, and contribute to the company's commitment to ethical practices and community impact.

Responsibilities

• Prepare purchase agreements, ground leases, building leases, development agreements, easements, and other transactional documents.
• Review, analyze, and negotiate legal documents related to commercial property development and construction contracts.
• Manage transactional aspects of commercial development for in-house projects and those assigned to outside counsel.
• Assist in entitlement aspects of commercial development and address land use issues.
• Review construction contracts to ensure favorable terms for the company.
• Develop, review, analyze, negotiate, and manage various contracts and business agreements.
• Support Human Resource and employment-related investigations and litigation proceedings.
• Attend depositions and mediations as needed.
• Coordinate with real estate developers and outside legal counsel on transactions.
• Research legal issues and stay updated on legal trends and risks.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate Degree and admission to State Bar in at least one State.
• At least two years of legal experience in a law firm or in-house organization.
• Experience in real estate transactions and/or construction-related contracts.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Integrity and ethical conduct in all professional dealings.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
