About the position

The Benefits Coordinator (Bilingual - Spanish) is responsible for supporting the administration of all employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, leave, and the 401(k) plan. This role involves assisting employees with benefits enrollment, addressing benefits-related questions, preparing monthly billing statements, maintaining the benefits management system, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in administering various employee benefits programs, including group health, flexible spending account, dental and vision, ancillary benefits, disability, life insurance, leave, 401(k), and wellness programs.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for employees regarding all benefits-related matters.
  • Documents and maintains administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes, ensuring compliance with government regulations and the timely and accurate submission of required reports and fees.
  • Supports the maintenance of employee benefits records, including updating the benefits management system and employee records.
  • Provides customer service support to both internal and external customers, addressing inquiries and resolving benefits-related issues.
  • Assists with organizing and coordinating meetings to educate employees on company benefits and related wellness programs.
  • Helps employees with benefit claims related to health, dental, life insurance, and other applicable benefits.
  • Verifies the accuracy of monthly statements for all group policies, maintaining data related to premiums, claims, and costs.
  • Supports the completion of benefits reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Tracks employee participation in wellness activities and maintains a record of activities completed by employees.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field preferred.
  • One to two years of related human resources or employee benefits administration experience.
  • Fluent in Spanish & English - Required.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, ADP, or similar platforms), benefits administration software, and Excel for tracking and reporting data.
  • Solid understanding of benefits-related regulations (e.g., ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, COBRA, etc.) and the ability to ensure compliance with these laws.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly explain benefits options to employees and work with external vendors.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex or sensitive employee inquiries related to benefits.
