A privately held real estate development firm committed to delivering top-quality projects across various sectors is currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to join their finance team. As the Controller, you will directly support the CFO in overseeing the company's financial operations and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This role is critical in maintaining the integrity of financial data and providing insights that drive strategic decision-making within the organization. In this position, you will be responsible for financial reporting and analysis, assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. You will conduct variance analysis comparing actual results with budgeted/forecasted figures, identifying trends, and providing insights to management. Additionally, you will support the Controller in preparing financial reports for internal stakeholders and external parties, such as investors, auditors, and tax authorities. Your responsibilities will also include managing the general ledger and accounts, preparing journal entries, and ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions. You will perform account reconciliations, including bank accounts, intercompany transactions, and balance sheet accounts. Collaborating with the Controller, you will streamline the month-end close process, establishing efficient workflows and maintaining proper documentation. Team collaboration and development are key aspects of this role. You will actively support the Controller in training and mentoring junior members of the finance team. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including finance, project management, and operations, will be essential to ensure accurate financial information flow and resolve any discrepancies or issues. Staying updated with industry trends, accounting regulations, and best practices will enable you to recommend process improvements and contribute to the department's overall growth.
