About the position

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Controller to oversee the financial operations of our organization. As the Controller, you will be responsible for managing corporate accounting, financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This pivotal role requires a strong background in financial management and technical accounting, making it essential for the successful candidate to possess a comprehensive understanding of financial principles and practices. You will play a crucial role in shaping the financial strategy of the company and ensuring that all financial activities align with our organizational goals. In this position, you will manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, leading a team of four accounting professionals. Your responsibilities will include performing account reconciliations and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting. You will implement and maintain financial controls and procedures to safeguard the company's assets and ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Additionally, you will lead the annual budgeting process and provide financial forecasts to guide the company's strategic planning. Your role will also involve conducting cash management activities to optimize cash flow, utilizing your technical accounting expertise to address complex accounting issues, and performing general ledger reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records. This position is critical to the financial health of the organization, and your leadership will be key in driving the success of the accounting team and the company as a whole.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department.
  • Lead and guide a team of 4 accounting professionals.
  • Perform account reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Implement and maintain financial controls and procedures.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and provide financial forecasts.
  • Conduct cash management activities to optimize cash flow.
  • Utilize technical accounting expertise to address complex accounting issues.
  • Perform general ledger reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in corporate accounting or related field.
  • Proficiency in technical accounting principles and financial concepts.
  • Strong knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with account reconciliation and financial statement preparation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry required.

Benefits

  • Estimated annual salary of $160,000 to $180,000, depending on qualifications and experience, with bonus eligibility.
